Youths Wanted to Help with the Book Drive

Book Drive flyers are available at the Library Reference Desk. You can photocopy the second page of the flyer, complete it and staple it to a large brown paper grocery bag. Leave the bag on the front step of neighbors that you know. Collect donated books from family and friends. Bring in the bags of books to the Library Bookstore when it is open.

Bookstore Hours

For each full bag of books that you bring in, the library will give you one (1) community service hour. For more information about this special volunteer opportunity call (949) 830-7100, extension 5139.

ADULT Volunteer Opportunities (ages 18 and older)

The Mission Viejo Library has several adult volunteer opportunities available. New adult volunteers are asked to commit to volunteering for a minimum of ONE YEAR or longer. Some adults prefer to volunteer on an “on-call” substitute basis for regular volunteers who are unable to come in due to illness, family or travel plans. Children's Craft Volunteer

Purpose: Provide assistance in craft preparation for Children's Librarians. Assistance allows library staff to focus on program development and fliers presentation.
Major Duties: Assist Children’s Librarians by photocopying and folding brochures; assist in preparing and assembling story time craft activities; assist in distributing materials and cleaning up.
Qualifications: Minimum age is 18. Enjoy working with youth in the Children's Room; enjoy participating in creative craft activities; complete background investigation. 
Time Commitment: Two (2) hours per week (minimum).

Friends of the Mission Viejo Library Bookstore Volunteer

Purpose: To provide assistance in the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library Bookstore.
Major Duties: Sort and price books; keep bookstore shelves stocked and presentable; prepare sales displays; sell bookstore items.
Qualifications: Minimum age is 18. Enjoy working with people. Ability to make change correctly.
Location: Friends of the Mission Viejo Library Bookstore (located in Library lobby).
Time Commitment: Two (2) hours per week (minimum).
