Free Tutoring and Research Assistance
The following information applies to all tutoring
sessions:
The
Homework Center is open to Elementary school
students in
grades
2 - 6.
Chemistry
and math tutors are available for Middle and High
School
students.
Sessions
are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please
call
the reference desk in advance to sign up at (949)
830-7100
ext
5105. Be sure to leave your name, school, and phone
number.
Sign-up
sheets are available at the library's Adult
Reference
Desk.
Students
should come prepared with questions, their textbook,
a
pencil, paper, and any other materials needed.
Tutoring
sessions
focus on learning general topics rather than
completing
specific
homework assignments.
There
is no charge for this service.
Chemistry
Tutoring
Mondays, 6:30PM - 8:30PM
Study Room F
Library volunteer
and retired chemical engineer, Bob Kylander, is
available to help students with chemistry.
Math Tutoring
Tuesdays, 6:30PM - 8:30PM
Bill Price Room
Math tutoring is
provided by library volunteer Don Volz, a retired
engineer. His broad experience includes tutoring
college math through college calculus. If needed,
Don can also tutor students who need assistance with
Physics and Algebra II.
Math Tutoring
Thursdays, 6:30PM - 8:30PM
Bill Price Room
Bill, our newest
volunteer, will be tutoring in middle school and
high school math. He is also proficient in physics
and mechanics.
