The Parent/Child workshop is a five-week series of workshops for
children 12 – 36 months old and their parent/caregiver. Siblings
ages birth to 5 can also attend. During this special time, the library
provides the setting in which the child and parent can play
together. There will be seven different interest play stations for
children with a broad variety of toys, manipulatives, arts and
crafts, and music books, etc. Parents will have the opportunity to
connect with many parenting resources and community
professionals to discuss speech, hearing, physical fitness, nutrition,
early literacy and obtain other child development information. The
purpose of this program is to provide a time for parents and
children to interact in a relaxed nonthreatening, non-instructive
environment, meant strictly for recreation. In addition to play time,
the informal program encourages networking on the part of the
parents to gain support from shared experiences.
The registration for this workshop in now open at the children’s
